ok Mr & Mrs Dragon, what do you stand for - describe yourself in a few words. Scaly?!

No, quite smooth actually! Words that describe our values include - Flair. Imagination. Creative. Perfectionist. We recognise there's only one way you want us to rekindle your wedding memories - and that's vividly. Our customer service values are similarly paramount - we are approachable, flexible, honest and considerate.

My Uncle Rick’s got a good camcorder and he’s happy to video our wedding – for free!

Poor old uncle Rick. He's got no idea what you're going to put him through - first of all, grueling hard work filming your wedding when he should be sipping champagne. If that's not enough, he has to deal with your bitter disappointment when you see the shaky, muffled amateurish rubbish he's shot. We've heard enough horror stories from couples wishing they'd hired a professional who makes a highly skillful job look easy enough that old Rick fancies a shot at it.

Will filming our ceremony be obtrusive?

Although our cameras are the highest quality SD digital, three-chip broadcast standard, we deliberately invested in smaller cameras so yourself and your guests feel at home and not intimidated by large, shoulder mounted news cameras, which tend to scare people and be obtrusive by their nature.

Throughout the ceremony our cameras are locked on tripods and are therefore stationary. We deliberately do not use any lights because they're unnecessary and they would also be far too intrusive, even intimidating for some.

How would you describe your service and filming style?

Although we pride ourselves immensely on a highly creative, fresh and innovative production style, we also have a strong culture of client consultation. After we meet to discuss your aspirations for the perfect wedding film, you can just leave it to us to turn your dreams to reality with a stylish production you will always cherish.

We believe all wedding films should include a mixture of styles as appropriate to each couple and the many layers of moods of the day. Every wedding is completely different so the varying style and content of our wedding films are individually tailored to suit you.  At our heart, we are contemporary. In reality, some moments of your day call for a more romantic and traditional style, but there'll be many fun moments and some absolutely outrageous stuff! We work very hard indeed to reflect this changing atmosphere of your incredible day naturally and vividly.

I understand you don’t have any “packages” and you've only got one price. Do I have to pay extra for filming at the bride’s house, or filming the first dance, highlights, etc?

Nope – we don’t charge a single penny extra for any filming or editing that you request. We believe it is our duty to include any content you request for your video. This is one of the many respects in which leaky dragon productions is ground-breaking and unique.

You might choose not to have a camera at the bride’s house, to avoid adding to the general state of panic. However, if you would like us to attend on the morning, pictures of the bride’s or groom’s preparations can provide an added dimension to your film of the day. It’s also a great opportunity to capture stunning images of all the details at home such as your freshly delivered flowers, close-up details of the dresses, nervous dads, giggly bridesmaids, etc.

Filming the first and second dance is an integral part of our service. We will create a beautiful montage of this event blended with wedding day reprises and your first dance song. You can view one of our first dance sequences online by clicking here.

So if you film everything we ask for and provide a “full monty” service all for one price, you must be pretty expensive?

Far from it. We’ve extensively researched other video producer’s prices throughout south and west Wales and Surrey – which is our dual catchment area. We’re not the cheapest on a superficial level until you calculate how much it would cost you to add all the extras other wedding film producers charge on top of a basic package or price. We’re very much mid-priced at £745 for a two camera, full day and evening service. In addition, we devote considerably more attention than all our competitors on editing to ensure the resulting film is outstanding. There are some producers who charge £1,200 + (we’ve seen one quote for over £3,000!) for providing the same or an inferior quality of service as ourselves.

Do we have to pay extra for licences?

Of course not. Inclusive in our fee of £745 we purchase the necessary licences on your behalf for live and recorded music to be included in your wedding film. These cost approximately £60 per wedding but we cover that cost for you.

How many DVD copies do we get? And can you do VHS?

Three DVD copies are included in our price and yes of course we can do VHS video.

So what’s your background – are you “born” wedding film producers?

Our visual and creative credentials are impeccable for wedding films – we have a professional background in television, portrait photography, freelance wedding videography, landscape photography and design.

What is the procedure you follow when our wedding’s over and how long will we have to wait for our DVD’s?

Unlike the vast majority of video producers, we devote on average 200 – 300 hours of time to post-production. We pride ourselves on the outstanding results that only this level of devotion to detail can return.

The process involves the following stages: assessment and logging of the 12 – 14 hours of rushes we’ve captured on digital tape, transference of this film to the editing workstation, editing of the pictures and sound for each section of the day together with the production of special musical sequences, such as your first dance. The DVD is authored with chapter points, menu screen, label design, etc. Finally, all DVD copies are individually tested. This is a painstaking process and we devote all the necessary resources to crafting a perfect wedding film which we know you will treasure throughout your future married life. Depending upon the season, on average this process can take 8 – 12 weeks.
